The CSTP certification with its three levels ensure that software test professionals learn how to perform better in their careers, using practical approaches in a disciplined and systematic manner.
The CSTP certification ensures a balanced knowledge of Software Testing and QA since all certified professionals are exposed to the 7 areas of the Body of Knowledge (BoK).
The 7 areas of the BoK are the areas identified as being critical to the field of software testing, as determined by an Advisory Board of leading industry experts and practitioners.
By achieving CSTP certification, software test professionals can arm themselves with the best methodologies and practical approaches available, taught by the best in the industry today.
Acquiring the designation of Certified Software Test Professional (CSTP) indicates a professional level of competence in the principles and practices of software testing in the IT profession.
As a general rule, CSTP's gain recognition as software quality professionals and gain greater acceptance in their role as advisors to management.

Pre-requisite: Analysts / Designers / Software Professionals / Testers with 1 to 2 1/2 years of experience. The completion of CSTP Level 1 (Mandatory) Course Duration: • Minimum 4 Days. • This can be split into two courses, one that covers areas 3 & 4 and another that covers area 5. Course Coverage: Covers areas 3, 4 & 5 of the CSTP BoK. BoK Area 3: Managing the Testing Process
BoK Area 4: Test Execution and Defect Tracking
BoK Area 5: Requirement Definitions, Refinement and Verification

Pre-requisite: Managers, leaders and other Software Professionals with more than 2 1/2 years of experience. The completion of CSTP Level 1 and Level 2 (Mandatory) Course Duration: Minimum 4 Days. This can be split into two courses, one that covers area 6 and another that covers area 7. Electives are also an option. The choice of electives would be announced perodically based on the emerging trends in software testing. Course Coverage: Covers areas 6 & 7 of the CSTP BoK. BoK Area 6: Test Automation

Application Procedure
The detailed application form must be duly filled and submitted along with the payment to complete the registration formalities. The participants have to complete the registration formalites two weeks prior to the training program. Once the registration formalities are completed, a study guide will be provided to ensure adequate preparation time.
Examination
The Certified Software Test Professional exam for each level is an assessment of the participants’ understanding of the subject. To demonstrate competence in these areas, candidates are required to attempt a written exam for each level and pass with a level of performance no less than 80%.
The Candidates will have two weeks from the last day of the Training session to ensure adequate preparation to take up the certification exam for that specific level. The time duration is 3 hours.
