About the Speaker
Col MB Ravindranath joined the prestigious National Defence Academy in 1976. After completion of his military training with flying colours at the National Defence Academy and the Indian Military Academy, he was commissioned into the Infantry. He followed this up with outstanding performances in the Army. He has topped the Commando Course, has been on the junior faculty for Training for use of Weapons and Tactics and senior faculty for Transport Management. Selected and trained at the prestigious Defence Services Staff College, Wellington, he has vast experience in strategic and operational planning, management of men, material and machine matrix.
His experience includes planning, organizing and executing with great success military tactical level operations against militants in Jammu and Kashmir for over 8 years, leading with great distinction the military operations during the Kargil War, providing the Indian Army with crucial break through victories at the battles of Tololing and Three Pimples. For this, he is the reciepient of the ‘Veer Chakra’, the third highest award for gallantry in the face of the enemy.
His experience also includes computer modeling of warfare and computerization of organizations. He has been awarded the Army Commanders Commendation for developing a computer assisted war-game model using statistical models of war data. He has authored many papers on Computer assisted war-gaming.
He is an Executive Director with Magod Laser Machining Pvt Ltd, since 2002. He has put to good use his vast experience in project management and managed the organizational growth from single machine SSI to a medium sized unit with highly automated information and production systems. Magod Laser has grown to be second largest Laser Cutting facility in India and a leader in the application of laser for industrial purposes. His highly innovative HR practices have ensured low attrition and high motivation of the workforce in the company.
