The software industry has reached a threshold point. While there is growth there is also increasing pressure due to various reasons. How can industries reduce commoditization and maintain competitiveness. Is there something which if organizations focus on then they will survive and grow in future.?

Organizational Knowledge / Competence is one area if focused on can help survival of companies. Organizational Knowledge can be measured as a combination of following

  • Knowledge / Competence of it’s employees
  • Ability of organization to elicit and make this tacit knowledge explicit
  • Ensuring Easy access of the explicit knowledge to all
  • Ability of organizations to grow the Overall Knowledge / Competence of it’s employees

A Competent Organization will ensure a continuous exponential growth of Organizational Knowledge.

This paper will attempt to bring the current challenges faced by organizations. This paper talks of the characteristics of an IDEAL employee. (Innovative, Domain Expert, Adaptable, continuous Learning). It brings out the processes / structures which organizations need to have to ensure they are a Competent Organization. This paper specially focuses on the Delivery Team Organization which plays a key role in creation of the Competent Organization.
Speakers Profile:

Arthi has 11+ years of experience in design, development and testing in the embedded domain. She works as Senior Test consultant in Wipro Technologies. She has a B.E Degree in Computer Science, MBA and a PMP. She has presented papers at other international conferences.

Her current role includes understanding new requirements and technology trends in the consumer electronics domain with reference to testing, preparing proposals and developing reusable components to improve efficiencies of testing.
